Lars-Erik Forsbergh, president of Volvo Trucks Middle East, said, ?2014 has been an extremely important year for Volvo Trucks Middle East. We began in January with the launch of our new range. This was followed by the introduction of our flexible financing options in an effort to support the region?s surging industry. We also optimised our transport solutions around the new models to provide our regional customers with the best the market has to offer in terms of care packages that help increase productivity and truck efficiency.?

The Middle East is currently experiencing a construction boom, fuelled by investments as well as government support. To support the range of construction of projects, Volvo Middle East had introduced the new FH, FM and FMX models earlier in the year that made a significant contribution to the company?s performance in the Middle East, stated company officials.

Among the major deliveries undertaken by the truck manufacturer, the delivery of 250 FH 4x2 tractor heads equipped with I-Shift gearboxes to a Dammam-based construction company as well as 100 FH 6x4 tractor heads equipped with I-Shift to a Dubai-based construction company were considered Volvo Middle East?s most significant. In addition, the company also delivered 80 trucks including a mix of FH 6x4 tractors and 8x4 concrete mixers to an Omani construction company based in Muscat.

Another leading market for Volvo Trucks in 2014 was Iraq, where 282 FMX units were delivered to the Baghdad Municipality, which included a mix of FMX 6x4 and 4x2 rigid trucks. Another order of a 100 units of FH tractor heads 6x4 with flatbed general cargo semitrailers was delivered to Iraq?s Ministry of Transport.
