Spanish group Talgo has revealed plans to bid for the Oman Railway project and has said that it was optimistic that its technological expertise would give its proposal an advantage over competitor bids
Spanish Ambassador to Oman, Jose Rosello, said, ?Talgo is confident in its capability of building and maintaining railway networks across the world.?
Rosello added, ?The Spanish consortium had been awarded with one of the largest high-speed railway networks in the world, the Mecca-Medina line. Thus, we are hopeful that Talgo?s skill will be stipulated in Oman as well.
?We are also hoping that Oman Railway too will consider the services of the Spanish Consortium as we have one of the largest high-speed railways in the world, Mecca-Medina railway. Hence, we have all the reasons to keep our fingers crossed and wait for the contract.?
The consortium, led by Talgo, a leading Spanish global train manufacturer, is bidding for the contract to construct the project.
At present, Talgo trains run in countries including Spain, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Italy, USA, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
