Saudi Arabia to house US$267 million aviation academy

Saudi Arabian-based aircraft management solutions provider Infinity Support Services and Flight Safety International have partnered to set up a US$267mn aviation academy in the Kingdom

According to Arab News, Infinity Support Services chief executive officer Obaid Al-Mozainy said, "We estimate that the region would require 20,000 pilots over the next decade. The academy would offer the latest aircraft and simulation tools to ensure that students and navigators get the best training."

The academy will be built on an area of about 50,000 sqm.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) official spokesperson Khalid Al-Khaibary said, ?The institute will be managed by the private sector.?

The Kingdom also houses the Saudi Aviation Academy, which is situated in the Thumamah Airfield, Riyadh.

Earlier this year, GACA signed an agreement with the Alpha Star Aviation Services to set up a private aviation centre in the country.
