HOCHTIEF ViCon will implement, manage and execute BIM on the central section of Ashghal?s Inner Doha Re-sewerage Implementation Strategy ? IDRIS MTS02 ? in Qatar

The contract was signed with a joint venture consisting of Al Sraiya Strabag for Roads and Infrastructure, HOCHTIEF Solutions ME and Petroserv.

The construction of the 14.7-km long central tunnel section with related access and work shafts is part of Ashghal?s US$2.75bn key programme to provide a long-term wastewater treatment solution and vital drainage infrastructure for southern parts of Doha. This scheme will include a major deep tunnel sewer network and advanced sewage treatment works and provide a long-term wastewater treatment solution to serve the needs of Doha, Al Wakra and Messaieed.

IDRIS is developed to upgrade and expand the sewerage infrastructure and to accommodate the projected population growth of an additional one million people in Doha?s oldest area ? the south catchment.

The main trunk sewer, divided in three construction sections, will be approximately 45 km long, with internal diametres ranging from three to 4.5 metres, and depths ranging from 20 to 55 metres.

The project is expected to begin in Q3 2015 and completed in Q4 2019.

HOCHTIEF ViCon will deliver BIM implementation and management services for the entire project duration supporting all construction phases. Furthermore, the scope of work will include a BIM execution plan together with a BIM modeling strategy.

BIM shall be used to support the processes design coordination, scheduling and progress monitoring and quantity take-offs.
