Qatar General Electricity and Water Company (Kahramaa) is pushing ahead with expanding the countrys electricity capacity with a collaboration with Alstom Grid to build sub-station plants for US$695mn.
Qatar has budgeted US$4.1bn to spend over the next three years on electricity and water projects, and Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC) has announced a number of new projects over the last few months, including the construction of new electricity plant with a capacity of 5,000MW by 2016.
Alstom grid, the newest sector of the Alstom Group, is a major company in the power generating industry and is focused on improving the capacity of Gulf country's electricity network and are developing more smart and flexible grid sets.
