Saudi Arabia has signed a bilateral agreement with South Korea to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the development and use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes.
Hashim Yamani, president of KA-CARE (King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy), signed the agreement in Seoul on behalf of the Kingdom while South Korea was represented by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Kim Sung-Hwan.
"The agreement is aimed at establishing a legal framework that strengthens scientific, technological and economic cooperation between the two nations, said the statement from KA-CARE.
Third nuclear agreement
This is the third nuclear agreement Saudi Arabia signed, following similar deals with France and Argentina.
KA-CARE also said it is currently in talks with China, Russia, Czech Republic, Britain and the US to negotiate "further cooperation".
