South Koreas Samsung C&T Corp won a US$579.3mn order to build a thermal power plant for Emirates Aluminium Company (Emal) in the UAE.
The contract would last until June 2014, Samsung said in a statement.
Last month, Emal said it awarded more than US$700mn in contracts for the expansion of its Al Taweelah smelter. Phase Two will almost double production capacity to 1.3 million metric tonnes.
