UN?s new cooling report finds Danfoss? support

Danfoss has contributed to United Nations-initiated Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) cooling report titled ?Chilling prospects: Providing Sustainable Cooling for All?

It is the first-ever report to measure the risks and assess the opportunities of the global cooling challenge.

The report highlights the important role of the industry to solve the growing cooling demand in a sustainable way, by thinking more holistically about heating and cooling and how to deploy the most efficient existing technology, and developing new, innovative solutions for the most vulnerable.

It is estimated that the Middle East will be responsible for eight per cent of the world?s electricity consumption for space cooling by 2050.

In an increasingly warming world, the impact of not having access to modern and sustainable cooling solutions must be acknowledged and addressed.

With up to 70 per cent of the Gulf Cooperation Council?s (GCC) energy consumption used for HVAC and cooling applications, consumers will demand a lower cost-of-ownership and more environment-friendly solutions. Deploying the technology to reduce food loss and keep vital medicine stored safely consequently brings environmental and socio-economic benefits.
