Caterpillar Inc. has introduced the G3520H genset in order to deliver low owning and operating costs

According to Caterpillar, the G3520H is the second of the H-Series product line now available for operations on natural gas fuel, and is currently offered at 2500kW of power output at 50Hz and 60Hz.

A company source said that the new genset was designed to be effective in duty applications and could be used in industrial and commercial facilities such as hospitals, data centres, manufacturing plants and greenhouses, as well as in distributed generation power plants.

The increased power density of G3520H has a compact size that helps reduce installation costs, the source added.

Features on the G3520H include cuffed cylinder liners, updated valve stem sealing and increased valve train lubrication, which Caterpillar said would result in reduced oil consumption compared to genset models in the previous series of generators.
