Etihad Rail to build terminal in Dubai

The UAE national railway network developer Etihad Rail has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai Industrial City for the development of a rail terminal in Dubai

Etihad Rail CEO Nasser Al Mansoori and Dubai Industrial City CEO Abdulla Khalifa Belhoul signed the MoU which specified the logistics pertaining to the location of the terminal. The terminal will be located within Dubai Industrial City and will incorporate extensive container, automotive and bulk-handling facilities.

Al Mansoori said, ?Etihad Rail is part of a greater vision to drive economic growth and development in the UAE by bringing geographic markets closer. The MoU with Dubai Industrial City is in line with this vision of driving development in all the emirates in the UAE, enhancing the country?s position as a logistics hub by concentrating all types of cargo in one strategic location.?

Belhoul said, ?We are delighted that Etihad Rail has selected Dubai Industrial City as the location for one of the main stations in the emirate. The construction of this station and the Etihad Rail project will contribute to the diversification of Dubai?s economy.

??It will drive investment in infrastructure, transport and the wider value chain, while providing additional connectivity and operational efficiency for companies across the UAE.?
