Provider of innovative and highly efficient transport solutions for the commercial vehicles Hyva will launch its new generation Kennis roller crane ? the 13-RL ? at IAA 2018 at Hannover, Germany, from 20-27 September 2018

The new generation cranes focus on improvements in weight, emissions, safety and ergonomics to serve our customers who have to anticipate new regulations and maximize payloads. The Kennis 13-RL is lighter in weight, allowing a higher payload, and still be compliant with the weight controls of local transport regulations.

With a 13 tm lifting capacity and a new rigid hexagonal extension 6.2 metres outreach, the crane has a reduced footprint with a light and very compact design. The crane features a new ergonomically placed top seat control station designed to improve visibility, accuracy and operational efficiency; high-speed proportional joystick control station which will greatly enhance the comfort of the user; and, a new trailer stability control system based on inclination control that greatly improves safety, stability and ease of use.

Optimal structural design of the new crane was achieved using iterative finite element analysis to further improve the structural design with the goal of reducing weight while increasing its strength and stiffness. The new lightweight robust design underwent extensive endurance loading and fatigue cycle testing; functional tests in all crane configurations; and, field tests in heavy duty conditions, which have produced a genuinely new and high-performance crane. A 40 per cent weight reduction has been achieved, with only a seven per cent reduction in lifting capacity in comparison with the current 14R series at similar reach. This weight reduction also delivers a better driving performance for the new roller crane.

?With its all-new design, significant weight reduction and payload improvement, we believe that our new Kennis 13-RL is a very attractive proposition which will be embraced by both existing and new customers,? said Martin Kolkman, V-P Hyva International and Western Europe-Middle East-Africa.

Options include a narrower roller track width, special colour coatings, an additional working light (in addition to the two working lights on the boom and column) on the top seat and crane locking. Hose management has been completely redesigned, offering a safe guidance of hydraulic hoses for better protection during harsh operating conditions. A five-ton capacity rotating hook is also available as an accessory.
