Kooheji Contractors are using a lightweight formwork for a luxury tower block in Bahrain

The company will be using NeoR lightweight formwork from PASCHAL for efficient formwork construction and dismantling, for a 53-storey building complex, called The Onyx Skyview.

The skyscraper will have 435 luxurious apartments, 40 workplaces, seven retail spaces, and landscaping features with a view of Manama's cityscape and a view of the sea.

The NeoR lightweight formwork is suitable for the production of foundations, beams, pillars and walls. The formwork panels are particularly light and weigh just 41.3 kg for an area of 90 x 150 cm. Installing and moving lightweight formwork on the construction site can therefore be carried out easily.

The 90 x 150 cm panel's internal tie points provide it the adaptability to be used both longitudinally and upright. The extended perforations in the panel frame allow for compensation of uneven surfaces as well. The abundance of choices enables the best fit to the unique requirements of any construction site.

The lightweight formwork system relies on keybolts, a tried-and-tested light, force-locking, and reasonably priced connecting piece that guarantees aligned walls.

Since NeoR lightweight formwork is, of course, compatible with all PASCHAL systems, it can be added to the stock of formwork already in use.

Abdulrahim Al Kooheji, chief contracting officer at Kooheji Contractors, said, "We are pleased to collaborate with PASCHAL once again on the Onyx Skyview project. Their NeoR lightweight formwork is the perfect solution for our construction needs, ensuring efficiency and precision throughout the process.

"By utilising the NeoR lightweight formwork, we ensure the efficient and trouble-free completion of our construction projects. This solution perfectly aligns with our commitment to delivering high-quality structures on time and within budget."

Marius Wunder, CEO of PASCHAL-Werk G. Maier GmbH in Steinach, Germany, said, "We have been in a strategic partnership with Kooheji Contractors in the Middle East for decades and once contributed to the construction of the world-famous Golden Mile at the Palm Jumeirah with the modular universal formwork.

With the NeoR lightweight formwork as its further development, we now also offer lightweight and high-performance formwork systems for foundations, columns, beams and walls to the Bahrain and UAE markets.”
