South Korea?s Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) has announced that it has won a US$3.3bn order to build a steam power plant in Saudi Arabia
Under the deal signed with Saudi Electricity Company, HHI will complete the facility with a production capacity of 2,640MW by 2017.
The plant will likely to be located 135km north of the southwestern Saudi Arabian city of Jizan, according to HHI.
Hyundai said, ?The Middle East region still invests heavily in infrastructure thanks to high oil prices and steady population and economic growth.
?We expect more orders in the future from the Saudi Arabian government, which puts a top priority on increasing power and water desalination capacity.?
In October 2012, the company had also won a US$3.2bn order to build a thermal power plant near Jeddah.
