New pipeline partnership to target quick growth

United Pipeline Systems, an Aegion Corporation subsidiary, and Special Technical Services (STS) have combined their best practices as they look to accelerate the expansion of both businesses across North Africa and the Middle East

The joint venture, United Special Technical Services (USTS), was formed in Oman and will offer piping and flow line high-density polyethylene lining services for pipeline corrosion and abrasion.

Aegion Energy and Mining senior vice president Dorwin Hawn said, ?STS has strong relationships and projects within these regions that fit well with our existing customers and backlog of projects.?

The company expects the partnership to leverage the introduction of its new Tite Liner technology throughout the Middle East market.

STS managing director Basil Macki said, ?It is STS?s objective to keep pace with the latest developments in technology and delivery processes within the oil and gas industry.?

United Pipeline System owns 51?per cent of the joint venture while STS holds the remaining interest.
