British building firms to advance Qatar expansion

A number of UK construction and consultancy firms have been planning to advance their Qatar expansion plans in 2013 as the country readies itself to award a selection of major infrastructure projects, according to The Links Group

The Middle East company formations specialist said the interest in the country has ramped up as many of its major construction projects were moving from the concept stage into reality.

It pointed out that major contract awards are expected to reach between US$25bn and US$30bn over the next two years.

Wayne Merrick, Qatar general manager of The Links Group, said, ?All the delegates I met know that Qatar offers one of the most buoyant projects markets in the world.
